Using the Resolution Together approach, one solicitor advises both of you jointly, helping you understand your legal position, identify the issues that need to be resolved, and work towards fair arrangements for finances, property and the children. Unlike mediation, this process allows both of you to receive joint legal advice throughout, rather than working only with a neutral facilitator.
Joint legal advice meetings
If the process is suitable for you, then we will meet with both of you together and provide legal advice jointly. This allows you both to hear the same advice at the same time. It helps reduce misunderstanding, supports open discussion and creates a shared understanding of your legal rights, options and responsibilities.
We guide you through the no-fault divorce or civil partnership dissolution process, ensuring you understand the court procedure, timescales and practical steps required for a smooth progression.

As with any divorce process, we will provide expert legal advice on the fair division of finances, including property, pensions, savings, investments and business assets. We help you work towards an agreed financial settlement that is clear, practical and fair, and can then be formalised through a financial consent order.

We help you agree child-focused arrangements following separation, including where the children will live, how much time they will spend with each parent, and how important decisions will be made in their best interests.
Where appropriate, those arrangements can be recorded in a parenting plan or reflected in a child arrangements order by consent.
Separation agreements and consent orders
Once agreement has been reached, we assist in recording the terms clearly and properly. This may include preparing a separation agreement, drafting a financial consent order, and completing the supporting court paperwork where required.
