Legal experience
Amanda re-joined HRJ Foreman Laws in January 2023, having previously spent 12 years with the firm after originally joining in 2008. She qualified as a solicitor in 2005 and is an experienced family lawyer advising clients on all aspects of divorce, separation and private family law.
Amanda specialises in financial remedy cases involving complex asset structures, business interests, pensions and property portfolios. She regularly advises clients in medium to high-net-worth cases and provides strategic advice on protecting wealth, including through pre-nuptial and post-nuptial agreements, cohabitation agreements and trust-related disputes.
She also has extensive experience advising parents on arrangements for children following relationship breakdown, including disputes concerning contact arrangements, schooling, relocation and international travel. Amanda is known for providing clear, practical and commercially focused advice, helping clients identify the most effective route to achieve a resolution whilst minimising stress, delay and unnecessary cost.
Recognising that family disputes often arise during some of the most difficult periods of a client’s life, Amanda combines technical legal expertise with a pragmatic and supportive approach, aiming wherever possible to resolve disputes through negotiation and alternative dispute resolution without the need for contested court proceedings.
Practice Manager – Risk, Compliance and Governance
In addition to her legal practice, Amanda is the firm’s Practice Manager and plays a key role in supporting the Partners with the firm’s risk management, governance, compliance and business operations.
Amanda assists the Partners in overseeing the firm’s compliance framework and strategic objective of maintaining the highest standards of professional conduct, client service and regulatory compliance. She works closely with the COLP, COFA and MLRO to ensure the firm continues to meet its obligations under the SRA Standards and Regulations, the Money Laundering Regulations 2017, UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018, the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025 and Lexcel accreditation requirements.

Amanda is committed to ensuring that compliance is embedded throughout the firm’s day-to-day operations and that robust systems and controls are maintained to protect clients, staff and the business.
Examples of matters that Amanda has managed
Resolving protracted and drawn-out case involving significant business and pension assets through negotiation with the other party.
Successfully assisting client negotiating the terms of a Parenting Plan without the need for contested court proceedings.
Representing client accused of parental alienation to rebut allegation within court proceedings.
Assisting client to have her child’s deceased father named on the child’s birth certificate.
Advising client in respect of gender recognition certificate.

Away from work, Amanda enjoys playing padel, running and practising yoga as well as spending much of her time supporting her children in their various sporting activities. She is also actively involved in fundraising and community initiatives, regularly supporting Garden House Hospice and Pancreatic Cancer UK.
