Examples of recent matters that Thibiha has managed
Instructed on a probate matter where the client sought advice on mitigating the amount of Capital Gains Tax. She discussed with them the option of appropriating the property into the names of the beneficiaries in order to try and reduce the Capital Gains Tax liability, by preparing a Deed of Appropriation.
Dealt with a probate matter where the deceased divided her residue estate between family members and several charities. The deceased had nominated a charity but had included the registered charity number of another charity. This created confusion as to who the rightful beneficiary would be. She contacted the charities in question to ascertain their position regarding the gift. She then obtained the relevant written confirmation from the charities that they did not wish to benefit under the will and thereafter proceeded to distributing the estate in accordance with the terms of the will and finalising the estate.
